It seems to be during the holiday season that we remember our siblings and childhood days! We are all spread to far apart but memories hold us together.
My mom, told us a Christmas story about her early childhood that I will never forget. I have such a visual of this story that it seems like yesterday!
My mom said that when she was a little girl they were very poor. When Christmas came one year back in the early 1920's they were especially on the lean side. My grandfather left the house early Christmas morning way out in the countryside of north Alabama. The kids didn't know that he had slipped away but he had. All of a sudden there was a terrible noise going on down from the house in the woods, the kids asked grandma what was happening. She said that grandpa was beating up Santa Clause. My mom and her siblings started crying because Santa was in trouble. A few minutes later my grandpa came home with a bag of oranges and apples that he took from Santa!!! The fruit was the only Christmas presents the children got that year!
(Do you feel blessed or not)
This story makes me laugh and cry and especially since I don't have my mom this Christmas.

Thanks for sharing this nice story with all of us.. :) It leaves me speechless. I guess the essence of every gift lies with the love that accompanies it and it is not just 'bout the price tag associated with it.
Love

Hi Kate,
Thank you for your comment. You are right, it is the love and not the price tag!
